Huge Flower Sales in China before Spring Festival

Flower SalesThe arrival of Chinese New Year caused immense flower sales in China. Chinese people get an abundance of flowers for decorating their houses and sending their dear ones.

In Southwest China’s Yunnan Province- the country’s largest flower market- flower sales are up 20% compared to usual ones. Up to 12 million flowers are bought at the the Dounan flower market daily.

Recently the flower farmers in Zhejiang Province in east China sent 100,000 roses, which were bought in no time in spite of the stem’s double price.

In northeast China’s coastal city of Dalian, workers do their best to package flowers that are sold for between 300 to two thousand yuan per pot.

And it is just the beginning as sales are increasing day by day with the forthcoming Spring Festival.

In 2009, the Chinese Spring Festival of the Ox Year takes place in January, 26.
