Interesting Stories from a Flower Shop

The owner of Yucaipa Florist, Nancy Yeoman understands that she cannot alter a human’s life with blooms, but after 27 year- experience in the flower business, she is aware that flowers are the perfect way to make a person smile.

Yeoman confesses that the best part of her job is lightening up people’s lives and within many years of making people’s lives at least a little bit easier she has gathered   plenty of interesting  stories.

One of the fantastic but true stories is about a long-distance phone call received by her in 2004. The call was made by a soldier in Iraq from a satellite phone. He said, ‘Bear with me, I’m in Iraq and we’re under fire.’

Being under attack he was calling under a truck to order a bouquet of flowers for his mom on the occasion of Mother’s Day. After explaining all the details the soldier came back to fighting the war. As for Yeoman, she fulfilled his order.

Fortunately the times have changed, but such unforgettable stories make Nancy’s job scenting sweet indeed.
