Over 2,500 varieties of flowering plants will be exhibited at the International Flower Show, which will be organized at Raj Bhavan from January 24 to 26. Every visitor is able to take a great opportunity to attend 2-day seminar in Wilson College and flower bazaars, education sessions, and other interesting events.
The flower bazaar will last for four days; it will take place in the Marine lines Chowpatty, where flowers and other plants will be selling.
The major organizers of the show are Mumbai Rose Society and Indo Israeli Agro Industries Chambers. For Mumbai it is the first flower show of international standards with participants not only from India (with such cities as Bhopal, Bangalore, Ootty, Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur, Vadodara, Pune, Talegaon, Amravati and Hyderabad) but from many foreign countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Israel and Kenya.
This show will gather together about five thousand farmers and horticulturists, experts, scientists and international sellers.
Here one can enjoy flowers not only from India but other parts of the globe. In addition to 300-350 rose species mainly provided by Israel and Kenya, a big collection of dahlias from Kolkata, the hallmark of the show would be an orchid section from south-east Asia.
But it is just the very beginning of the flower list, also including 25-60 carnation varieties, an abundance of chrysanthemum blooms and 20-30 annual flowers and many others.
