Splendid Stand up Bouquets

An arrangement of hand-tied blooms lasts for a long time as the plants, no doubt, last longer in a vase of water and floral preservative rather than other flower arrangements created in floral foam. Here I give you some simple steps for making a marvelous bouquet indeed. It is worth looking through indeed.

You will need
•    clippers
•    cut flowers
•     Greens
•     ½” –ribbon
•     Bucket or vase of water with added floral preservative.

Procedure
•    First set  your mind where you would like to place the future bouquet.

•    Choose the blooms and greenery.

•    Prior starting creating the bouquet, take and clean all the blooms and leaves. Take off all the leaves that fall below your thumb while creating the bouquet.

•    Take 3-5 flower stems in your hand, holding them vertically between your thumb, index finger and third finger.

•    Start the spiral placement by placing other bloom stems at a 45 degree angle against the rest of the nosegay. It is important to lay them close to each other. Once 3 - 5 stems have been added, turn the nosegay clockwise or counter clockwise. Then place more blooms in this way. You will be making a spiral of blooms; that is why all the flowers and greenery should be arranged at the same height.

•    Once you get a bouquet to your taste bind the blooms. Just wrap ribbon a couple of times around the stems of the blooms.  2-3 inches of thread should be left for tying off your bouquet. Take the thread through the center of the blooms, pulling it tightly. Afterwards it should be cut and tied it to the loose end.

•    Do your best to cut the blooms ends straight.

•    Put your nosegay in the center of the dining table. Remember no vase is needed for your stand-up bouquet. Be sure your guests will be shocked.

•    After the dinner cut the ends of the stems and place the bouquet into a water for its re-hydration.
