The Beginning of Kollam Flower Show - India

Labour Minister P.K. Gurudasan opened the Kollam Flower Show 2009 at the Asramam Children’s Park complex on Friday evening.

The show will last for 10 days. According to Mr. Gurudasan under a project agreed by the Union government, an allocation of Rs.2.86 crore had been taken to renovate the park for children. It was added to the allocation of Rs.96 lakh made by the State government.

The renewed park will get a complex wall, a mandapam, a rest room, an open air auditorium, a dashing car and a family train.
Once these projects are finished, there will be no possibility to use the park as the place for flower shows in future. Now one of the major tasks for the City Corporation is to find a new venue for the flower show.

The Minister said that they will do their best to give a better projection to the eastern sectors of the location as a tourism destination.
