Some brides choose their favorite flowers for winter wedding, while the others are stick to the old tradition of having white bouquet, signifying purity.
Some select the available local flowers or look for the ones complementing their color scheme or bridesmaids’ dresses. There are such brides for whom it is very important the symbolical meaning of every flower type. The colors of the winter season also come play an essential role on final decision about flower choice.
• Christmas brides usually go for red or burgundy colors. In this case it is better to use red roses, carnations, calla lilies, and other red blossoms in the bridal bouquet with accents of silver, white, and green.
• Such dainty flowers as poinsettia, amaryllis, and evergreens are common choices for decorations; holly branches and other plants bearing red berries are perfect for wedding floral arrangements. For a special seasonal effect you can add iridescent or frosted glass balls, snowflake ornaments along with glittery ribbons.
• If red or green color is chosen for the dresses of the bridesmaids, do not forget to take a piece of fabric to your florist while selecting the flowers. As the matter of fact, an inappropriate cue of green foliage or red flower can be unsuitable for a gown of a different shade of the same color. For example, for emerald green it is advisable to select a red rather than a maroon or burgundy shade for the bouquets.
• White is a common winter color with such flowers as roses, tulips, freesias, hellebores, and mums. However always keep in mind you are to choose the proper white that will match your gown. You will need to select among a number of cues ranging from pure white to ivory or a faint pinkish white.
• Some white flowers can serve as an accent color for a bouquet of darker in colors blooms or for floral arrangements and accessories to brighten up a room. If you have beaded gown include miniature of white beads or pearls into your nosegays and table centerpieces.
• If you are in search for a more modern display of your winter wedding you are free to use blues and purples. Accompanied by white, metallic silver, and glittery gold accessories, the flowers will add a special illusion of winter.
