Kaffir Lily
Clivia miniata or Kaffir Lily originates from South Africa and represents the amaryllis family. The plant can be also commonly known as sometimes bush lily or Clivia.
Nowadays there are 6 known species. They all are frost-sensitive, clump-producing plants reaching nearly 30 inches long being in bloom. The leaf’s width and length is about 2 in. The plants bear evergreen foliage set up in a fan from the central crown. As Clivia matures, it crown are more and more covered by branches, forming a lot of fans.
Today one can come across variegated leaves form with white or yellow-colored stripes moving down the leaf’s length. These varieties are highly-valued in the flower market. The plant produces trumpet-like blooms; they come in clusters, per 20-30 flowers in the one cluster. Today they flowers can be met in cues of orange to red, yellow and whitish. The houseplant lily can bloom for about one month.
