Lisianthus




Representing the Gentianaceae family lisianthus is famous for its long vase life’s lasting and a vast variety of shades and colors. The most popular among them are blue cues.  Its botanical name is Eustoma grandiflorum. The plant is native to the West Indies, Mexico, and Central and South America. The name lisianthus is derived from the Greek ‘lysis’ for "dissolution," and ‘anthos’ for "flower’. Its alternative name is eustoma. The distinctive features of lisianthus are four wide ruffled, dainty petals and oval green leaves.

The flower is available at any season of the year from international sources. One can get single-, double and triple-petaled species. The cut flower’s lasting is about 7-12 days. The major requirement is care and handing in the proper way.
