Regal Lily



Commonly known as Trumpet Lily, the plant bears the botanical name of Lilium regale. It represents the family Liliaceae.

Regal lily owns an interesting story behind it. Ernest Wilson, a 19th century English collector run a risk of his life for this dainty flower. He discovered them in the mountainous regions of Szechuan, China.

The Rega lLily is recognized as a Perennial Forb or herb. Its length is 36 - 48 inches. The plant produces rough stalks with long slender leaves along their length. The trumpet-like blooms are borne on the tops of the stalks.

They come in white color with a pinkish tinge and have the length of about 14 cm.  The blooming time is in the summer months. Regal Lily is stem-rooting. The plant’s blossoms are remarkable by strong fragrance, which is typically spread in the air at night hours.
