Rose Campion

The botanical name of the plant is Corylopsis platypetala. Rose Campion belongs to the carnation family growing in the mountainous areas of the Northern hemisphere.

In North America a small plant can be found in the arctic. In rocky areas, the plants thieve in mats varying in size from several inches across to as big as a turkey platter. It makes heavy compact coverings with opposite- arranged leaves that have the length of 0,5 in. These 1-2 in-high low-growing bushes of Rose Campion’s blooms adorn any garden.

It represents one of the most spectacular cushion plants bearing greenish leaves with miniature pinky blooms. The 5-petal dainty flowers are produced on short stems directly above the leaves and occur in July and early August.
