Roses
Plants in the Rosa genus come from the Rosaceae family, which has over 20,000 cultivars commonly known as roses. These lovely flowers originated more than 4,000 years ago. They were first grown in the fertile land between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in the Middle East. Nowadays roses are available all the year round in the vast variety of shades, colors and sizes.
This beautiful flower is the favorite one all over the world. Being extremely popular it has a lot of meanings which vary depending on the bloom’s color.
For instance red roses stand for romantic and true love, passion and desire. It is for those who wish to say their partners about warm feelings and great love.
White rose signifies innocence, purity, charm, secrecy and the like. It is for those who wish to say “I am worthy of you”, “You are heavenly’, ‘Keep A Secret’.
The red rose represents the symbol of England and is traditionally worn on St George's Day. Since it means love rose is gifted in a great abundance on St Valentine's Day.
They include two popular types spray and tea. In the 19th century people cook jelly from the old plants. Rose water served for treatment of all types of ailments. Among them were trembling, constipation, drunkenness, skin and throat infections and insomnia.
Being widely considered the elegant and romantic flowers roses are loved by their versatility. They represent one of the most marvelous vase arrangements at the same time being the perfect single stem presents. The flower works well in bridal nosegays and wedding. They are also often used in corsages and boutonnieres, in other special-occasion arrangements as well.
