Russell's Beebalm



The botanical name of the plant is Monarda russelliana.

Russell’s beebalm is one among 12 species of wild bergamot’s growing throughout the most parts of North America. It can be found from southern Illinois to Texas. The plant’s length is approximately 2 ft. They produce square-shaped stems having 2,5 in long. The appositively arranged leaves are notable by scent characteristic to the mints.

The blooming time is in early spring. The "bloom" looks like a terminal cluster of blossoms. It bears the name of verticillaster that has plenty of flowers with two lips. They come in white color and are marked by pinkish sports. The bloom head has nearly 3 inches in diameter.
