Thistle




The pronunciation of this plant’s name is e-RIN-jum, its alternatives are ‘sea holly’ or ‘thistle’. The flower is distinguished by deeply-cut leaves in the shape of holly. The stem is surrounded by leaves resembling frilly collars, culminating in a raspberry-like blossom’s heads at the top of the stem.

Sea holly is first-class fresh-cut flower for any kinds of nosegays can be easily dried for long lasting floral designs. The flower comes from Siberia, the Balkans and Alpine regions. Since 1467 thistle has been grown in Western Europe due to its medicinal qualities.


The flower is available at any season of the year in all hues of blue-green from navy - bottled green, steel blues and gunmetal, to a brilliant sky-blue.
