Waxflower

Chamaelaucium uncinatum is the botanical name of wax flower. The plant belongs to the Myrtaceae family having such common relatives as eucalyptus, myrtle and leptospermum. Waxflower grows on shrubs which can have up to 12 feet tall.

Being a versatile alternative to gypsophila, waxflower represents miniature flowers and leaves resembling pine needles borne on slender, woody stems. Waxflower is very odorous having strong citrus lemon smell when being crushed.


The bloom is available at any season of the year in pink, white, crimson or lilac shades and colors. The cut flower’s life lasting is about 8-10 days. However the plant should get care and handling in a proper way.

This nice plant makes a good filler flower in various designs and floral arrangements.
