Wine Cup
The botanical name of Wine Cup is Callirhoe digitata. This perennial can also be commonly known as Poppy mallow. The plant is considered to be one of the showiest of wild blooms.
Wine Cup does not thieve in big groups: more frequently there are several separate Wine cups among other wild plants. The perfect growth conditions are partial shade. There are two species of Callirhoe growing in gardens; they are C. digitata and C. involucrata. The maximum plant’s height is up to 1,5 feet.
Wine Cup is notable by uncommon foliage. It differs in winter, when it is produced in a low cluster, with broad scallop-like leaves. In spring and summer season the plant runs out long stems for the blooms, at the same time producing slender, deeply-serrated leaves.
Wine Cup bears red to reddish –colored blossoms attracting numerous bees and small wasps.
