Very often people refer poinsettia plants to those that thieve in the middle of winter holidays. However, in fact, poinsettia is a tropical plant and does not tolerate drafts and low temperatures. Otherwise the plant’s foliage can fade and die off.
The soil should be kept moist; let it dry out a bit in between watering. To promote new flowers, pinch off spent flowers and fertilize your poinsettia during the period of its active growth (when new foliage and buds are emerging).
Poinsettia’s main hallmark is that is makes good cut flowers, and you are free to cut it from the plant. Once you cut the stem, put it in water for its hydration prior mixing it with other blooms.
