Snapdragon

Being the member of the Scrophulariaceae family, this fascinating plant dates back to the Mediterranean area. Antirhinum stands for gracious lady, deception and presumption. Having between 6 and 15 florets on stems of 18- 36-inch tall, Antirhinums is alternatively called Antirrhinum majus with meaning "like a nose or snout" (Latin).Its lush blooms' resemble a mythical dragon's snout, that’s why this flower is often called Snapdragon.

Snapdragons can be got during the whole year. Their colors are white, pink, yellow, peach, red, magenta and such variegated shades as the peach and apple. If the bloom is cut out its life lasting may reach up to 5-8 days in water. Supplying the plant with required care and handling it may last even up to 10-16 days. It is important to know that snapdragon is extremely sensitive to ethylene and thieves being placed in indirect light.

The flower is often used in various floral arrangements. The florists take advantages of snapdragon’s strong line forms, special texture and color/shade variety. Antirhinum represents a marvelous additions to multi -colored and mixed nosegays.
