Peony
Peony is the common name for about 33 species of plants in the Peonies genus that is the member of the Ranunculaceae family. Peony originates from Europe, Asia and North America, being one of the most favorite garden plants.
The blooms are very odorous and usually are growing to serve as ornamental plants. Their colors vary ranging from pure white through baby pinks and palest peaches to clear deep pink and darkest rich maroon. They symbolize luxury, indulgence, happy life and marriage. The Chinese idolized peony making it a traditional flower symbol of China. Peony motifs can be usually seen on Chinese silks and in their exuberant woodcarvings.
The flower is available from May till July. The cut flowers may last up to one week.
These attractive, massive flowers work well in a bouquet by themselves or mixed floral arrangement. In addition, they are a beautiful addition in bridal and wedding work.
