Brassavola Nodosa
Brassavola nodosa is the botanical name of the species that is more commonly known as Lady of the Night orchid.
It is easy to grow. The blooms are notable by uncommon scent. It is weak at the day hours, becoming much stronger during the night as the plant is pollinated by a moth.
Lady of the Night orchid has slender pseudo -bulbs and an abundance of long leaves. The leaves come on bluish-green color, having the shape of a pencil. The white-colored bloom's lip has the form of heart, bearing long, thin petals.
The blooming time for this species takes place within spring season. They are of medium size, producing short stems mantled by sheaths with a solitary leaf. It bears up to six blooms. The diameter of the bloom is about 4" -8".
Brassavola nodosa is a reliable windowsill plant and will prefer morning or afternoon sun light.
