Camellia

Symbolic Meaning: Everlasting love; you are perfect in every way, I admire you

Since old times young lovers expressed their love through this flower as it was the symbol of devotion to each other. The Chinese believe that camellia's petals reflect the spirit of a lady, while the holder of the petals stands for the young man entrusted by the woman as her protector. In a lot of places of China, the camellia is credited to be the flower for young sons and daughters.

The flower is the most famous and immensely-appreciated flower in Southwest China. Camellia was declared to be the national flower for the ancient southern kingdom, Dai Li. Today camellia is the national flower of Alabama.

The flower is the representative of the tea family Theaceae having about 82 species. It originates from the tropical and subtropical areas of Asia.

This ornamental flower resembles the rose and is available in such colors as red, white, and pink.
