Zinnia

Zinnia represents a genus comprising about 20 species of annual and perennial plants from the family Asteraceae. The plants are native to the southern America and Mexico to Chile.

Zinnnia produces bright-colored blooms on the long stems. The stems may grow from 3in to 3 feet. The blossoms can be white, yellowish, rose, crimson, salmon, orange, red, purple, and lilac.

Depending on the species one can come across a single row of petals to a dome shape. Its linear to ovate-shaped leaves are arranged oppositely, being typically sessile. The foliage comes in deep green color.

Zinnias are highly appreciated for their dainty look, being recognized as perfect garden plants. Zinnia also serves as one of the great elements to floral arrangements and decorations.
